Long thought to be a collection of separated, culturally homogenous "ethnic villages", Boston today has shifted so that almost each of the city's sixteen neighborhood districts has become dramatically diverse. In the timeline below, you will spend the day with a group of community builders who are negotiating power and building bridges for their constituencies in this new Boston. You can watch Kimberly Chacon, at 16, the youngest person to run for political office in the United States, the day she announces her candidacy; or powerbroker Alan Solomont former Finance Chairman of the Democratic National Committee as he goes about his day attending fundraisers for senators and having his haircut. Each subject donned wearcams (small video headsets) for a day and documented life from their perspective. They were selected through a nomination process that involved the input of over 50 community organizations.
